Hosting dinners at your home can be a great way of bringing friends and family together, but it can be a lot of work for the hosts. It doesn’t have to be.
Besides the catering services offered by many of Grand Cayman’s restaurants, there are several chefs who can come to your home or apartment and provide personalised chef services while you just enjoy being with your guests.
Keith Griffin, one of Cayman’s most renowned chefs and FlavaCurean. Griffin has been a heavy hitter in Cayman’s culinary scene for more than 25 years, winning many awards and having worked in or owned several fine-dining restaurants, including Bacchus Restaurant & Wine Bar. Now days, Chef Keith is taking his culinary show on the road to cook personalised lunches, dinners and demonstrations.
Alan and Laura Silverman, the folks who bring Grand Cayman one of its most popular fast food restaurants – Al La Kebab – also have a catering service called Dine by Design. Executive Chef Eric Steele, who served as the executive chef at Marriotts in Calgary and Edmonton in the past, designs menus for events both large and small. Dine by Design can take care of every detail at your event including food, serving, valet, security, bar, specialty rentals, décor and entertainment.
Mise en Place is another popular catering choice that also offers personal chef hire. Started by award-winning Chef Sean Collins, Mise en Place offers a wide range of services whether you’re planning a beach barbecue, a corporate reception of hor d’oeuvres or a five-course plated dinner for a special occasion. With a large staff that includes Cayman’s 2011 Chef of the Year, Gardine Euter, Mise en Place can also have a chef prepare dinner for you in your home or rented condo.
Chef Wayne Jones O’ Connor and his company Food for Thought can also cater for groups both large and small. With a long career in the kitchen of some of Cayman’s finest restaurants and in Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe, Chef Wayne aims at delivering exceptional dining experiences, whether they are simple barbecues, weddings or intimate dinners for two.
