Nobody makes rosé like the masters in Provence. Charles Smith is known for producing fun, vibrant and quaff able wines and he has done it again with his winemaker friend Charles Bieler. 100% syrah, the colour is an almost electric salmon hue with aromas of orange peel, cherry, watermelon and grass. The mid palate is well structured and fi lls the mouth but at the same ti me gives that fresh crispness one looks for in a Provence rosé. Enjoy chilled on the deck or serve with bruschett a, cured meats or grilled fi sh.

People don’t oft en think, ‘Ohh I fancy an Austrian Rosé,’ but it is well worth taking the chance. This bright pink wine is one of the most pleasing rosés that I have tried. It is round, crisp, very fl avourful with a strawberry-like bouquet and a touch of minerality. The fi nish is dry, refreshing and lingers nicely. This easy to drink wine is perfect with a burger on a hot summer’s day. 100% Zweigelt grapes.

The best California rosé comes from the cool coastal regions, so look no further than this snazzy litt le number from Sonoma. Made from Pinot Noir grapes, it has seducti ve aromas of strawberry and raspberry with a crisp, juicy fi nish. It delivers delight and is the perfect wine to serve at a party, but is equally suited to a romanti c dinner à deux.
